Reported crime down 34% in Castle Vale

Crime in Castle Vale is falling to its lowest point in recent years, according to figures presented to the Tasking Meeting by police today.
Just 35 crimes were recorded in Castle Vale during February – that’s 34% lower than for the same period last year.
Ten of last month’s reported crimes were assaults, mainly of a minor nature, PC Kelly told the meeting. Most of the assaults were domestic incidents; three of them were assaults of a minor nature on police officers.
The most serious incident involved two people who were attacked in Cadbury Drive. One victim received a broken jaw, the other a fractured skull. Neither the victims nor CCTV footage could not identify the assailants.
There were three cases of harassment. These usually involve persistent and unwanted e mails or text messages, PC Kelly told the meeting. There was one recorded drugs offence – involving possession of a small amount of cannabis.

  1. I’m not going to tell you who I am, for a number of reasons, but suffice to say that a) I live locally, b) I have an active interest in the community and c) I’m not a member of the police, nor do I have any vested interest in the police. You don’t have to believe me, but it’s the truth.

    So, about those figures/proof/evidence.

  3. Again, I’m seeing no numbers, statistics or proof of your claims against the police. Care to share?

  5. I am intrigued, please confirm where you got these fascinating statistics?

  6. reported crime may be down, unreported crime however is up 100%, due to the inactivity of police. what is the point of reporting crime when the best you can hope for is a useless crime number?
